Blackbough Swim and the well-liked Amazon Prime TV series collaborated on a Blackbough Swim x “The Summer I Turned Pretty” collection.
The much awaited second season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” a television series on Amazon Prime Video, premieres on July 14. Blackbough will launch a joint collection of swimwear accessories, cover-ups, one pieces, and bikinis on Thursday to commemorate the occasion.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” [TSITP] was the first television program I saw when it debuted last year. My curiosity was sparked by the Blackbough team’s excitement for the first season. I was instantly captivated after doing some research on it. A member of the Blackbough design team remarked, “There was something about the show that reminded me so much about Blackbough—its youthfulness and sunny outlook, as well as the essence of summer feeling like forever.”

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” line, which features eight vibrantly colored swimsuits with floral prints, attempts to capture the spirit of youth and beachiness of the television show.

The main character of the show, Belly (played by Lola Tung), was the inspiration for the collaboration’s more conservative styles, like the Sammy and June one-pieces and the Jenny Surf one-piece rash guard, because of her “sweet, childlike and more reserved” demeanor, while the “cheeky” styles, like the Quinn, Alana, and Daniella bikinis, were inspired by Belly’s best friend, Taylor (played by Rain Spencer), for her carefree, spontaneous spirit. The partnership also offers a range of complementary coverups and beach-inspired accessories including market bags, purses, and floral water bottles to counterbalance the collection.
The poolside collaboration between Blackbough Swim and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” retails for $40 to $65 for tops, $35 to $60 for bottoms, $70 to $90 for one-pieces, and $15 to $40 for accessories. The swimsuit brand’s online store is the only place to buy the collection.
