DunKings’ Menu Perhaps, like me, you experience a strong migraine whenever you see a well-known actor featured in an advertisement. Nevertheless, there is unquestionably a charming—and, dare I say, natural—aspect to Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ endorsement. Whenever I think, “Wow, what a cash grab,” I can’t help but think of all the pictures from 2016 that show a despondent Ben Affleck smoking a cigarette. He is seen holding an iced coffee from Dunkin’ in a few of those pictures. Even if I really want to detest it, the collaboration makes sense. He’s the love of this East Coast chain of coffee shops.
Given that Affleck is formally involved in Dunkin’s marketing, the company has access to a movie universe. He operated the Dunkin’ drive-through window for several Super Bowl advertisements the previous year. After then, a plethora of various ads and promos built to this year’s Super Bowl spot, in which Tom Brady, Matt Damon, and Affleck form a boy band named the DunKings’ Menu. The limited-edition DunKings’ Menu was released this week and is currently accessible as the campaign’s culmination.
The caveat is that the Dunkin’ Rewards smartphone app is the only way to get three out of the five items on the DunKings’ Menu . The new DunKings Iced Coffee and the DunKings Munchkins Skewers are available to everyone, but you have to download the app and have an account in order to enjoy the Everything Encore Breakfast Sandwich, Hazelnut Heartthrob Iced Coffee, and Mixed Berry Beats Dunkin’ Refresher. Is it worthwhile? How do the DunKings things compare among themselves? I attempted to learn from each.
The DunKings Iced Coffee
In DunKings’ Menu Iced Coffee is a variation of Dunkin’s traditional iced coffee flavored with vanilla and cream, topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar and a delightfully cool foam. Sounds wonderful, but all this did was make me miss Pistachio Cream Cold Brew from Starbucks. Why? This place has far too thin cold foam, and the flavor is noticeably sweet syrupy. It should be slightly thicker, richer, and creamier when it comes to the cold foam. Ben Affleck is said to always order this from Dunkin’ Donuts, and I firmly believe that he often consumes sweetened beverages and smokes cigarettes. That and this iced coffee have an element of relatability.
DunKings Munchkins Skewers
Usually offered in packs of about two dozen, Munchkins are Dunkin’s exclusive doughnut holes. However, a new menu item called “Three Munchkins on a Skewer” looks like it might be presented at a wedding reception or as the opening course of an upscale Dunkin’ tasting menu consisting of 20 courses. They are, in a nutshell, hilariously elegant. For me, it’s nice when fast food restaurants embrace fun, and this is intentionally ridiculously entertaining. As stated in the press release,
One cannot help but smile when seeing this campaign and all of its outtakes, sipping The DunKings Iced Coffee with the entertaining MUNCHKINS® skewer, or dressing in the bright pink and orange tracksuits. That’s the sincere, carefree bond we want consumers to experience when they think of Dunkin’,” said Jill McVicar Nelson, the company’s chief marketing officer.
The more whimsical Dunkings Menu embraces, the more appetizing the cuisine appears. I had three types of doughnut hors d’oeuvres: cinnamon munchkin, original glaze, and chocolate glaze. The Original Glazed was the most delicious of those; it was tender, doughy, and delightfully sweet. When it comes to eating out, this was the best I could wish for; I laughed a lot while eating them.
Everything Encore Breakfast Sandwich
Although this breakfast sandwich is a bit of a mess, it was really substantial and full for the price ($5.99 in Los Angeles). To begin with, the terrible news It’s entirely covered in loose poppies. You cannot eat this kind of breakfast sandwich at your desk or even in your automobile. It needs to be consumed outside. The poppy seeds have made a significant and unpleasant mess. They shower down and strew throughout your immediate area.
The sandwich itself has poor proportions as well; every bite is primarily made up of bagel, a few thin, greasy bacon strips, a tiny circle of egg, and a single slice of white cheddar cheese. This is a terrific use of white cheddar, which is sharp and pungent. You should see it on more breakfast sandwiches. Even if this breakfast has its shortcomings, it’s still a decent value at $5.99.
Hazelnut Heartthrob Iced Coffee in Dunkings’ Menu
The Hazelnut Heartthrob Iced Coffee has a rich, caramel-colored taste that is authentically roasted. In addition to whole milk, two pumps each of caramel swirl syrup and hazelnut syrup, it contains Dunkings’ Menu Original Blend coffee. This was surprisingly not overly sweet, letting the coffee flavor come through a little more. Robust, nutty, and dark flavors complement iced coffee perfectly, and they’re even more welcome when compared to the plethora of sugary, caffeinated beverages that are readily available to customers worldwide.
Mixed Berry Beats Dunkings’ Menu Refresher
The Mixed Berry Beats Dunkings’ Menu Refresher is a tad misleading because the promotional images lead one to believe that it’s a berry-forward, pinkish purple beverage. The color of mine, on the other hand, indicated that it came with green tea. Rechecking the app, I made sure I hadn’t made a mistake—remember, you can only order this one via the app. I had not erred: in addition to being on the ingredient list, green tea is also non-substitutable. It’s odd considering this press release’s ingredients list clearly excludes green tea.
The green tea completely covered up any raspberry or strawberry dragon fruit, if any existed at all. I won’t be whining though. This is quite tea-forward and has a lovely, gentle earthiness about it. This is significantly superior to a drink that is heavily sweetened with syrup. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, grab some Munchkins on a skewer and follow Affleck’s coffee order. If you’re in the mood for something hearty, the everything bagel with egg, bacon, and white cheddar is a satisfying choice. If you want something tastier, try the hazelnut coffee or the refreshment. This area truly has plenty to offer everyone.
