Friends, happy Friday! Today, I have a brand-new Try-On Haul for you that includes several transitional tops, several dresses, some affordable denim, and even a few pairs of shoes and boots!
Steve Madden Laken Faux Leather Shirtdress
I never shared this Haul outfit that I bought during the #NSale because it was nearly sold out when I got it. I like it better than I anticipated, and there are still a few sizes available despite the low availability. In fact, it’s not too uncomfortable and quite flattering.
I’m never sure why, but imitation leather Haul tops and dresses always seem rigid and uncomfortably made on me, so I never try them on. However, the synthetic leather on this one is supple and smooth, and the interior is quite soft.
Yes, the back creases strangely, but that’s normal for any cloth. The reason for this is that the dress’ waistline is a little lower than it should be given my short waist. It’s not a deal breaker per such, but it makes me wonder. In addition to that, I’m not sure where I would wear it. I could wear it to dinner with friends, but I know me, and I nearly always grab for jeans. It’s a bit much for church.
Donna Karan Floral Print Bracelet Sleeve Shirtdress
I placed an order for this Haul dress and the boots after seeing them on my friend Deb’s blog at Fabulous After Forty. The autumnal print drew me in, and I enjoy fitted lines and waist structure. The split cuffs are also a lot of fun. Sadly, I don’t think it fits well, and I think the print looks too big on me. It seems like it would suit me better if I were taller.
Dolce Vita Annika Pointed Toe Boot in Dark Brown Suede
This Western-inspired knee-high boot has a sculptural stacked heel and a clipped pointed toe that I adore. The dark brown suede is also quite sophisticated and rich. They appear to run a little small in terms of size, but my wounded ankle continues to grow throughout the day, so it’s difficult for me to be impartial. It was mostly too snug on that foot, however because of the pointed toe, you might want to go up a size.
KUT from the Kloth Meg High Rise Fab Ab Wide Leg in Exhibited Wash
I can’t even remember how many variants of this KUT from the Kloth Meg I’ve tried, but this darker wash is my favourite, and it’s one of the most attractive pairs of wide leg jeans I’ve ever worn. I think it’s much nicer in person than it is online. It looks worn in, in the best conceivable way, with just the right amount of sanding on the front of the thighs and whiskering around the hips.
I wore these jeans with this banded waist muscle tee because I adore the way burgundy looks with dark wash denim. To achieve a pleasing 1/3 to 2/3 ratio, the 22′′ length looks great with the ankle-length jeans. Here’s more about that tee.
Lara Twist Muscle Tee in Wine
When I was looking at comparable styles in the Evereve store, the salesperson literally pulled this t-shirt out of the back before it was on the floor.
The lightweight knit fabric is incredibly supple and soft, and I adore how the banded hem gathers in the front to almost give the appearance of an off-set front tuck. In addition, the deep burgundy hue is really lovely for the changing seasons. (Grey is another colour option.)
Willa Lady Like Vest
This sophisticated jumper caught my eye online, although the model wears it more casually and flowy than I do. Still, I believe this to be the ideal size. It has a more polished appearance than I was anticipating, which is acceptable, but I wouldn’t size up. Although it looks good with white jeans, I’d like to try it with blue jeans as well.
Zoey Sleeveless Hoodie
This Haul top has some lovely embellishments and is incredibly comfortable. I really like how the arms are made, and although I didn’t realise it online, it features a banded waist and kangaroo pocket that are done in a non-bulky style. It appeals to me.
Although I could probably go up, the tight fit is fine with me. All I can say is that I wish the hood had a slightly wider neck hole because I find it irritating.
Mid Rise Boot Jeans in Authentic Dark Wash
Given that quality Haul denim is becoming unaffordable, along with groceries and gas, I’ve been looking for more affordable jeans to suggest. However, I’m getting off topic.
LOFT denim has advanced significantly. These bootcut jeans are composed of a lovely lightweight stretch denim that fits and feels good. The wash is simply so-so; it doesn’t look amazing, but it also doesn’t look awful. It is merely a simple mid-indigo wash.
Collared V-Neck Shell
I’ve always liked LOFT’s Haul woven blouses, and this one’s collared neckline is a great modern touch. Additionally, I’m glad to note that their blouses have finally been trimmed. Depending on the style you like, the 24′′ length is ideal for tucking or leaving out.
Mid Rise Wide Leg Jeans in Classic Mid Wash
The wide leg jeans have a really beautiful, comfy, lightweight fabric, however I don’t like how the jeans fit in the back. Unfortunately, the wash is really nice considering the price range. Maybe I should try a size smaller.
Dotted Sweater Tee
This classic-fitting soft knit jumper shirt is incredibly adorable. Although I think the white trim looks good, I’m not sure I’m with the polka dots. Although I don’t think they go with my style, if you enjoy the way it looks, it’s a wonderful piece.
MOTHER The Outsider Flood Raw Hem Ankle Bootcut Jeans in Are We There Yet
Alright, these jeans are driving me crazy. I adore the worn-in appearance of the stiff cotton-blend denim and the faded blue colour. They feature a lower rise than The Hustler, which is a similar fit, and they’re a terrific ankle-length bootcut shape for wearing with casual flats this autumn.
But how strange is the sizing? I couldn’t even zip and button the MOTHER denim size 29 that I usually got, so I had to order a new size, which is the 30 that I’m wearing now. I wore these around the house for about an hour to see if they would loosen up and break in even though I could get them secured, but they were cutting into my stomach.
Liverpool Stripe Crewneck Sweater
This jumper is 100% acrylic, so I don’t think it will survive more than a season or two, but I really adore the autumnal tones. I do enjoy the faint lantern sleeve, though, and it’s still really attractive.
HINT OF BLU High Waist Wide Leg Jeans in Lisbon Blue
For the price range, these jeans fit and feel well, and I enjoy how the wash turned out. The polished trouser style hems and 32′′ inseam go perfectly with these 3′′ heeled boots.
Sanctuary Stripe Sleeveless Cotton Sweater
Love that it’s made entirely of cotton, and this is a perfect little transitional piece. enjoy Sanctuary, it’s of a high quality, and I enjoy how the v-neckline and arm lengths are cut modestly.
KUT from the Kloth Meg High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Wide Leg Jeans in Formidable
VERDICT: A lighter shade of medium blue, this is the KUT from the Kloth Meg. I really enjoy this pair, but I don’t need both, therefore I must choose between keeping this colour and the darker pair.
Sam Edelman Cohen Pointed Toe Slingback Flat in Scarlet
I adore the colour scarlet red, and these slingback flats with their pointy toe and understated logo hardware are perfect for the autumn season.
Sam Edelman Bianka Slingback Pump in Deep Scarlet
Because of the 2 1/2′′ heel, these shoes are a little dressier, and they are available in a wide range of colours. I may wind up acquiring these in a more subdued neutral, like black or soft beige, even though I was especially searching for a red pointy toe shoe. I’m not sure that I need two pairs of red shoes. I’ll continue with the 8 because it appears to fit better.
