Rare Beauty Blush, the brand’s Soft Pinch has gone viral, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback on TikTok and consistently selling out. The well-liked product is sought after for being a lightweight, flawless liquid blush that produces radiant, cherub-like cheeks with just a few dabs. Fans have praised it as “beautiful” and “stunning”.
With 13 hues to choose from, from light pink to dark berry, even cosmetic experts in the know consider themselves fans. Celebrity makeup artist Judi Gabbay Braha describes Rare Beauty blush as “a beautiful, blendable formula that flatters fair and deep skin tones alike.” She also notes that, despite being marketed as a liquid, it’s actually more of a silky cream, which means it doesn’t dry tacky or wet and is a great option to buff under or over powder.

How to choose the best shade for your skin
Gomez claims that all skin tones can look gorgeous wearing her cosmetics, and this highly pigmented product is no exception, coming in a range of shades from berry to pink to peach to red, with two distinct finishes: matte and radiant. Gabbay Braha and renowned makeup artist Grace Pae were asked to determine which of the 13 hues works best for various complexion tones.
Fair: Have faith, inspire, rejoice, and trust
Moderate: Joyful, Virtuous, Worthy, Grace
Dark: Joyful, Loving, Fortunate, Faithful
How to apply Rare Beauty blush
Because of its extreme pigmentation, Rare Beauty’s liquid blush goes a long way; for best results, apply one to two dots to each cheek. When applying, Gabbay Braha advises taking out any extra product from the doe-foot applicator and dabbing the wand on your cheekbones and apples of your cheeks.
After that, Pae suggests “bouncing” the color with a damp beauty blender sponge. Alternatively, you can gently pat the blush into your skin with your fingertips for a more intense color burst. According to Gabbay Braha, you’ll know it’s fully blended when the cream melts into your skin and you can’t identify where it finishes and begins. Continue layering until you have the color you want, be it a deep flush or a faint wash.
How long does Rare Beauty blush last?
Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is meant to endure because to its deep shade. However, no blush is immune to fading. “To extend the wear, I always ‘set’ a cream or liquid blush with a powder blush, [like] setting liquid or cream foundation with a setting powder,” Pae says. You may also try spraying on a cosmetic setting spray for further protection.
Our honest reviews
“Happy” on dry, sensitive skin
Consistency and coverage: This Rare Beauty blush is creamy and rich, blending well with a lovely consistency. I used a makeup sponge for a natural look and my fingers for a more pigmented blush. In any case, a dab of product was all that was needed to get a stunning color flush.”
Compatibility with skin tone and type: “One of the brand’s most well-liked hues, it gave my cheeks a bright flash of color; picture glowing skin right after the gym. Although the colors differed slightly from what I’d seen on social media, the outcomes were still really striking.”
The bottom line: Finding the ideal pigment level was the only challenging aspect. I can’t stress enough how significant one dot is! Nevertheless, it means using less product; after a year, one of my tubes has hardly run out.”
“Joy” on combination skin
Consistency and coverage: “The Rare Beauty Blush formula’s ease of building and blending out was incredibly appealing to me. Because of its high pigmentation, a small amount of product goes a long way.
Compatibility with skin tone and type: “This color didn’t pick up my makeup or go blotchy, which I felt was really attractive on my skin tone. I really liked that this blush didn’t draw attention to any of the texture on my face because I have acne-prone skin.”
The bottom line: “I really loved how the applicator holds enough of the product, meaning you don’t have to continuously dip.”
“Hope” on dry, sensitive skin
Consistency and coverage: “I used a brush to mix in two spots on each cheekbone and a tiny dot on my nose. My skin’s texture and pores seemed to be blurred, as though it had priming skincare elements. It was nicely pigmented, in my opinion. I could just buff it away with a few dabs with a damp sponge if I ever applied too much. It’s quite simple to thin out for a simple color wash.”
Compatibility with skin tone and type: Its soft, mauvey rose color truly won me over. I was enamored with how it matched my light-medium skin with olive undertones, even though at first I thought it could be too light. It truly has that dewy, slightly crinkled look.”
The bottom line: “This blush is really stunning! I adore that the packaging is not only sophisticated but also user-friendly for customers with dexterity issues. Though it’s not the longest-lasting blush I’ve ever used. I could tell it had faded significantly by the end of the day.”
“Grace” on combination skin
Consistency and coverage: “It was really simple to apply. I dabbed a small amount of my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick onto my cheeks and then lightly patted the blush in. I was initially uncomfortable with the striking color payoff, but as I melded it into my skin, it began to seem more and more natural.”
Compatibility with skin tone and type: “It nicely absorbs into the skin. The color was still quite noticeable and matte after a few hours. For me, this is quite important since throughout the day, my T-zone gets fairly greasy.”
The bottom line: Considering that my usual blush color is either deep red or coral, I was a little dubious about this one. I was pleasantly pleased, though. If I were heading from the workplace to an after-work function, I would reapply it, but if you’re just looking for a pop of color, it’s not required. I may have discovered a new beauty essential.”
Is Rare Beauty blush worth it?
Every single tester we had was in agreement that Rare Beauty’s liquid blush produces a beautiful, natural glow with premium pigment. One tube should last you for months, even if it takes some practice to figure out how much to apply—you just need a tiny bit for each application. The only warnings that you should be aware of are as follows: Matte blushes dry more quickly than other blush types, so blending them will be more difficult. You should also use caution when removing excess product from the applicator because it can become stuck in the handle rim and get dirty.
